Last night, Jim Chute of The San Diego Union Tribune quoted Los Angeles gallery owner Peter Fetterman: “I go to 10 of these a year and the standard here is very high. I think it’s better than the fairs I’ve been to in Los Angeles. The big issue is: will people in San Diego come out and support the galleries?” Chute also quoted arts patron and collector Iris Strauss in saying: “This is great for San Diego. It’s important we have a more vibrant arts community.” ART SAN DIEGO Contemporary Art Fair will be going on for the rest of the weekend: Saturday (noon to 8pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm).
